Everstream closes Uniti Pennsylvania fiber asset buy

The assets are principally in Pennsylvania but spill over into Southern New Jersey and Northern Delaware.

Everstream says it has closed a deal announced last November to buy fiber network assets from Uniti (see “Everstream to buy Pennsylvania fiber assets from Uniti”). The assets are principally in Pennsylvania but spill over into Southern New Jersey and Northern Delaware. Everstream will now serve the customers Uniti had been assisting including those in new metro markets for Everstream, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The mix of metro and long-haul fiber assets provide Everstream reach across Pennsylvania, including 10 cities in addition to Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The fiber infrastructure provides access to more than 52 data centers, with more expected to come online. To help serve these new markets, Everstream says it plans to open local offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in third quarter of this year.

“Everstream’s acquisition of the Uniti network assets in Pennsylvania has given us access to new fiber infrastructure and customers across Pennsylvania,” commented Everstream CEO Brett Lindsey. “As we continue to densify our network, these markets will experience not only Everstream’s high-capacity, low-latency connectivity services but also our unrivaled commitment to customer service.”

Everstream offers a slate of business fiber services that includes dedicated internet access, dark fiber, Ethernet, and data center offerings at transmission rates up to 100 Gbps.
