Optical Access delivers Gigabit-speed optical wireless systems

April 25, 2001
Apr. 25, 2001--Optical Access, Inc., a designer and supplier of optical wireless and IP switching and routing solutions, announced the availability of its gigabit-speed optical wireless system.

Optical Access, Inc., a designer and supplier of optical wireless and IP switching and routing solutions, announced the availability of its gigabit-speed optical wireless system that enables services providers and enterprises to easily deploy a cost effective, high capacity solution for the last mile.

The TereScope 1000G uses optical wireless technology, or free-space laser systems, to transmit high capacity data communications from point-to-point or in a mesh topology. The system integrates into a Gigabit Ethernet network infrastructure, accommodating data rates up to 1.25 Gbps full duplex.

The TereScope 1000G features a modular design that can accommodate future upgrades and changes in the field. It also offers integrated network management software for remote monitoring and management, and employs advanced camera alignment for simple and precise installation.

The TereScope product family provides a scalable wireless alternative to installation of fiber, leased lines or the need to acquire spectrum licenses.

Optical Access will demonstrate its new TereScope 1000G as part of its Optical Access Mesh solution at its exhibit during Networld+Interop, May 8-10, Las Vegas, Nev., Booth #2301.
