Ciena’s WaveRouter-7 is a coherent routing architecture optimally designed for the converged metro network.

Ciena’s WaveRouter-7 is a coherent routing architecture optimally designed for the converged metro network. WaveRouter is designed to scale and evolve from an extensible, flexible, converged architecture across multiple dimensions – routing, optical, and computing. By evolving its WaveRouter family, Ciena offers an expanded range of options with the new WaveRouter-7. The previously introduced WaveRouter-13 (WR-13) housing provides up to 48 Tbps of capacity flexibility. Now, by extending the family, there are more options. WaveRouter-7 delivers up to 24 Tbps of capacity, connecting to 60 x 400G, 240 x 100G, or any mix of paired 100/400 GbE gray or coherent 400G ZR/ZR+ optics. The 7-slot platform can also house Ciena’s WaveLogic 6 Extreme performance optics, up to 16 x 800 Gb/s or 8 x 1.6 Tbps coherent optics.
JUDGE'S COMMENT: "WaveRouter 7 represents an innovative platform architecture with a unique market position for optical networking."
