Chayora says it has opened its second hyperscale data center campus in China, this one to serve requirements in Shanghai. The first data halls on the campus should be ready for services in the fourth quarter of 2022.
The campus will be designed to provide up to 54 MW of IT load across three buildings. Each building will have five floors of data halls that can accommodate up to a total of 10,000 racks. The facilities will feature secure and renewable power as well as carrier-neutral, low-latency connectivity with Tier 1 providers, Chayora states.
The facilities’ cooling technology will deliver a PUE of <1.19. Rack densities will be 15kW/rack, with each floor supporting 672 racks. Chayora says it will offer space on a wholesale and colocation basis as well as build to suit using an entire facility.
“Our latest campus is strategically located to serve Shanghai and Eastern China where our customers have greatest demand,” said Jonathan Berney, co-founder and COO of Chayora. “We are delighted to be launching our second campus which offers build-to-suit and wholesale capacity at scale with 10,000 racks available and connectivity.”
The Shanghai campus will join the company’s first in Tianjin (see “Chayora opens first of nine data centers in Tianjin, China”). When each are fully developed, Chayora expects the two sites to support more than 200 MW of IT load and over 35,000 racks.
