Legrand says its Infinium acclAIM Fiber Solution for high-speed data center network requirements is now available for shipping. Designed to simplify connectivity and lower costs, Infinium acclAIM replaces platforms based on pre-terminated cassettes with a platform that emphasizes direct mating breakout connections.
Introduced last August (see “Legrand offers cassette-less Infinium acclAIM fiber interconnect system”), Infinium acclAIM offers what Legrand asserts is the lowest insertion loss available. Platform features include:
- As there are no pins, just direct connections, installers and technicians don’t have to consider connector gender
- Direct mating breakout to an array of two-fiber MDC duplex patch cords
- Polarity can be adapted to what Legrand calls “nearly any link configuration,” in either a preplanned, on-site, or on the fly manner; therefore, no options need to be determined or specified when ordering or designing
- The increased density of each connector and a smaller footprint overall footprint provides more room to work on each panel.
As a result of these features, acclAIM components are 40% faster to install and 60% faster to remove, says Legrand. The platform supports single-link testing after mating and more rapid relocations, additions, and changes, the company adds.
“Simply put, acclAIM is a revolutionary game-changer,” said Kristen Poulos, vice president and general manager, Legrand Data Infrastructure, at Legrand. “We are excited to bring to market the next generation of fiber connectivity that will prove to be the new standard for cost and performance.”
The acclAIM platform earned a 4.5 out of 5.0 rating in the 2022 Lightwave Innovation Reviews. “The Infinium accLAIM Trunk Cable Assembly certainly gets rid of a lot of unnecessary business (that can break) inside the enclosure and streamlines the connections,” commented one judge who reviewed the entry.
