ADVA Optical Networking says it has supplied its FSP 3000 CloudConnect data center interconnect platform to Telehouse America/New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) to meet growing data needs in its metro network. Telehouse is using the FSP 3000 CloudConnect to increase capacity across itsservice locations and New York colocation facilities.

The FSP 3000 CloudConnect was turned on in January, enabling the infrastructure to transport data at 200 Gbps and provide scalability to 400 Gbps and further, ADVA asserts.

Telehouse operates a pair of exchanges, the NYIIX and the Los Angeles International Internet Exchange (LAIIX). The open, programmable data center interconnect platform will help Telehouse America deliver high-speed connectivity in the NYIIX internet exchange point and meet its peering customers increasing requirements, says ADVA.

The NYIIX infrastructure has been upgraded with ADVA's open optical layer with FSP 3000 QuadFlex capabilities, allowing a single chassis to support multi-terabit transmissions over long distances with no signal regeneration necessary, says ADVA.

"With ADVA's unrivaled DCI technology and the drive and expertise of its team, we're addressing soaring bandwidth demand for our NYIIX Internet exchange points. The ADVA FSP 3000 CloudConnect is empowering us to connect our customers' data with more efficiency, more agility, and much more speed," said Akio Sugeno, Telehouse America VP, internet engineering, operations and business development. "The new solution enables us to easily deliver multi-terabit capacity over diversely routed and protected fiber links. Its small footprint and high density are key features, along with its innate capacity to scale. Now we know we have a future-proof solution that will grow alongside the ambitions of our customers."

Telehouse has 47 branded data centers in 23 cities throughout Asia, Africa, North America. and EMEA. Telehouse expanded its NYIIX with connections to five new locations in 2015, enabling NYIIX customers to access the exchange through IX Reach's points-of-presence (PoPs), in addition to its metro network in New York (see "TELEHOUSE adds connections to New York International Internet Exchange").
