MARCH 9, 2009 -- Wyndham and Wyndham Gates, two adjacent communities in Opelika, AL, have entered into a partnership with fiber-optic amenity company Connexion Technologies (search Lightwave for Connexion Technologies) for the deployment of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks throughout the communities.
A fiber-optic network can accommodate future needs through its unlimited bandwidth, one of the many benefits of this emerging technology, say Connexion Technologies representatives. Fiber is more reliable than coaxial cable because it does not conduct electricity, resulting in fewer outages and greater resident satisfaction.
"We're thrilled with the Connexion Technologies partnership," reports Lee Danielly of Knight Development Inc., owner of both properties. "Many of our residents are first-time homebuyers, and we're proud to offer them homes with this advanced network. It enables us to bring truly cutting-edge technology to affordable homes."
In the coming weeks, these properties' networks will support an array of affordable services, including ultra-high-speed Internet connections, more than 200 digital channels of entertainment, and multi-function telephone service.
