NOVEMBER 18, 2010 -- EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) says that a Tier-1 North American network operator has placed a follow-on order in excess of $2 million for EXFO’s AXS-200/635 Triple-Play Tester.

EXFO did not further identify the operator.

The North American operator, which had shipments exceeding $1.5 million for the Triple-Play Tester in fiscal 2010, selected the AXS-200/635 test platform to support the deployment of VDSL2 and IPTV services over its hybrid network, along with supporting its traditional voice and ADSL2+ Internet service offerings, EXFO says.

The AXS-200/635 test platform is designed for deploying, troubleshooting, and repairing voice, ADSL2+, VDSL2, copper, and triple-play services like IPTV.

Said Etienne Gagnon, EXFO’s vice-president—Wireline Division and corporate marketing, “This significant follow-on order demonstrates EXFO’s commitment towards fiber-to-the-node [FTTN] deployments, enabling operators to significantly improve their operating efficiency through proactive service verification and qualification of copper and hybrid-technology architectures.”
