ZyXEL Communications Corp., a provider of secure broadband connectivity products, has launched the SBG3300 business broadband gateway with 4G/LTE backup at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The high-speed VDSL2 router offers best-in-class security features, including certification from the Virtual Private Network Consortium (VPNC), making it an ideal option for telecommuters and satellite offices, the company claims.

The SBG3300 features multi-WAN connectivity that covers the rapidly growing mobile broadband landscape. The device incorporates three WAN interface options – VDSL2, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB mobile WAN – to establish load-balancing and fail-over backup. This feature aggregates total bandwidth over multiple WAN connections for smart traffic allocation and also protects businesses against sudden service outages. The USB mobile WAN can accommodate a 3G USB dongle or a 4G/LTE USB dongle (in regions where available) to provide true high-speed wireless WAN access. Carriers can provide both wired and wireless services all on one SBG3300.

In addition to 802.11n Wi-Fi and a four-port gigabit switch, the SBG3300 supports key business features that help small and medium businesses quickly setup powerful networks with robust security for remote and guest access. The IPSec-protected VPN provides secure communication for remote access provided to business partners, teleworkers, telecommuters, and intra-branch communication. With no additional installation of VPN software, the mechanism provides mobile users with a flexible and easy way to access network resources with high efficiency. Certified with two levels of interoperability by VPNC -- Basic and AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) -- the ZyXEL SBG3300 wireless business gateway provides guaranteed VPN interoperability with most known VPN gateways and end-user client software around the world.

The new business-class SBG3300 wireless business gateway is on display at the ZyXEL booth at Mobile World Congress on February 25 – 28 (No. 5B60 at Hall 5).
