Alphion unveils compact AOLT-4200 GPON optical line terminal

PON equipment vendor Alphion has introduced the AOLT-4200, a compact GPON optical line terminal (OLT) at the 2012 FTTH Conference and Exhibition, in Dallas TX. The OLT is designed to support both low-cost entry into fiber to the home (FTTH) services as well as sophisticated service offerings for established FTTH network operators.

PON equipment vendor Alphion has introduced the AOLT-4200, a compact GPON optical line terminal (OLT) at the 2012 FTTH Conference and Exhibition, in Dallas TX. The OLT is designed to support both low-cost entry into fiber to the home (FTTH) services as well as sophisticated service offerings for established FTTH network operators.

Like other Alphion GPON equipment, the AOLT-4200 designed to support the convergence of wireless and wireline networks. It enables networks that can provide a wide array of services, such as voice, high-speed Internet, virtual private network (VPN) data, Ethernet Line (ELINE), Ethernet LAN (ELAN), video services (IPTV), rural broadband, and mobile datacom.

“The AOLT-4200 platform was developed to meet diverse customer needs in the rapidly expanding FTTH market,” commented Dr. Bharat P.
