gst Telecommunications Inc. (Vancouver, WA) turned up its 500-mi fiber-optic network linking San Francisco, Fresno, and Los Angeles, CA. The network is part of gst`s expansion in the western United States. gst also was awarded a contract worth nearly $1 million to provide local telephone services at March Air Reserve Base in southern California through the year 2003. Under the contract, gst will provide, install, and maintain all local telecommunications services required by the air base.
