TAK Broadband announced today the acquisition of Gulbranson Services, Inc. (GSI), a telecommunications services contractor, a deal that will immediately enhance its reach into the Southern California market.
GSI was acquired from company founder Bob DeLaHoussaye.
TAK is a national provider of fiber and broadband network services, last-mile connectivity and on-premise technology deployment solutions for the broadband and telecommunications industries.
Victorville, CA, GSI, which was founded in 2005, provides drop bury, maintenance and fiber-to-the-home construction services to telecom service providers.
Platinum Equity acquired TAK in March 2024.
Platinum Equity Co-President Jacob Kotzubei and Managing Director Dan Krasner said in a joint statement that the GSI acquisition is part of an investment thesis “to pursue accretive tuck-in acquisitions that help diversify the company's customer base and increase its recurring revenue.”
The private equity firm intimated it will complement its own internal growth strategy with other acquisition targets. “The broadband communications services space remains highly fragmented, and we will continue working with TAK to grow both organically and through additional acquisitions,” Kotzubei and Krasner said.
