DECEMBER 7, 2006 -- Fiber Instrument Sales (search for FIS) says its new pocket fault locator is an indispensable tool for finding excessive bends and breaks in fiber-optic cable.

The FIS pocket fault locator, which is now available in both 1.25-mm and 2.5-mm models, is rugged and lightweight; it is 7.1-in in length and weighs just 4.5 oz.

The bright, 650-nm laser in the pocket fault locator ensures fast and easy location of loss points in patch cords, patch panels, and enclosures, say company representatives.

Features include all-aluminum housing and a heavy-duty belt holster.
