IQ Fiber’s ThinkBig Networks acquisition enhances Maryland network reach

The competitive fiber broadband provider has secured additional funding to keep up with its network expansion efforts.

Jacksonville, Florida-based fiber internet provider IQ Fiber is moving to acquire ThinkBig Networks, furthering its foothold in the Maryland market.

The acquisition, which IQ fiber says marks a key milestone in its continued expansion, is backed by additional equity funding from SDC Capital Partners. ThinkBig Networks is a fiber internet service provider serving Charles, Harford, Kent, and Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.

After meeting customary regulatory and other approvals, IQ Fiber expects the acquisition to be completed in the next several months.

IQ Fiber’s fiber network, which is currently deployed across North Florida and under construction in Savannah, Georgia, can deliver 10 Gbps symmetrical speeds.

Recently recognized by Ookla® as the Fastest Speeds and Top Internet Service provider in Jacksonville, IQ Fiber offers simple month-to-month plans with no contracts, fees, surcharges, or surprise price increases. It also provides a user-friendly app to manage the increasing number of devices in the home.

Massumi + Consoli LLP, along with Morgan, Lewis & Brockus, LLP, acted as legal counsel to IQ Fiber and SDC Capital Partners. Q Advisors acted as financial advisors to ThinkBig Networks, and Rifkin, Weiner, Livingston, Comm Law Group, and Zarren Law Group acted as legal counsel.

Clinton Karcher of SDC Capital Partners, noted, "The strategic expansion of IQ Fiber, bolstered by the acquisition of ThinkBig Networks, underscores our confidence in the IQ Fiber team and their vision to bring a modern internet choice to the market.”
