Douglas Fast Net begins $42M rural Oregon fiber expansion
Douglas Fast Net (DFN) has been awarded a $31.6 million contract through Oregon’s Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program to expand high-speed fiber internet access to 4,490 additional homes across rural communities in Douglas, Coos and Lane counties. Combined with $10.4 million in matching funds contributed by DFN, the project represents a total investment of more than $42 million in fiber infrastructure across the region. The BEAD-funded project will extend DFN’s fiber network across grant areas covering Bandon, Bethel, Coquille, Creswell, Crow-Applegate-Lorane, Days Creek, Elkton, Eugene, Fern Ridge, Glendale, Glide, Junction City, Lowell, Marcola, North Douglas, Oakland, Pleasant Hill, Reedsport, Riddle, Roseburg, South Lane, Springfield, Winston-Dillard and Yoncalla.

Comcast is nearly complete with its latest Jackson County, Michigan network expansion
Comcast completed a significant construction milestone in its most recent network expansion across Jackson County, with the overall project now more than halfway complete as the company works to bring its high-speed Internet network to more than 7,400 additional homes and businesses for the first time. Momentum across Jackson County remains strong with construction in Concord, Horton, Leslie, Onondaga, and Rives Junction nearing completion. Construction efforts are underway in Hanover, Jackson, Munith, Parma, and Pleasant Lake. New addresses will continue to become serviceable on a rolling basis, with the full project expected to be completed by spring 2027. This network expansion is part of Comcast’s latest investment in Michigan. In the last year alone, Comcast has connected an additional 32,000 homes and businesses in Michigan to Xfinity and Comcast Business services.

GoNetspeed sets Carteret Borough, NJ as its next fiber target
New Jersey’s Borough of Carteret next in line for GoNetspeed’s fiber network. Backed by a fully funded $8 million investment, GoNetspeed’s expansion will bring symmetrical Internet speeds of up to 6 Gbps to more than 6,300 homes and businesses. With construction expected to begin as early as spring 2027, GoNetspeed anticipates connecting the first Carteret homes and businesses by next summer. GoNetspeed is accelerating its expansion across New Jersey, with Carteret joining a growing number of communities set to connect to its fiber network soon. Following recent investments in Parlin, East Brunswick, and Old Bridge, as well as ongoing construction in South River, GoNetspeed continues to expand access to faster speeds, more choice, and reliable connectivity for residents and businesses statewide, and across the Northeast.

Optimum invests $6M in its Lubbock, Texas network
Optimum completed a $6 million investment to strengthen its Lubbock network. As part of this investment, Optimum built an approximately 100-mile fiber ring that powers the backbone of its local network, improving performance across the city and supporting residential neighborhoods, small businesses, fire stations, and essential public facilities with faster, more reliable, and more resilient service. Spectrum launches broadband to over 8K Citrus County, Florida locations
Spectrum is marking a major milestone in Citrus County, Florida, as its network expansion nears completion. Its services are now available to more than 8,000 homes and small businesses. The expansion in Citrus County is part of Spectrum’s multi-year rural construction initiative. Backed by more than $7 billion in private investment, Spectrum will add more than 100,000 miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical, multi-gigabit-speed Internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations nationwide.

TDS completes fiber network upgrade in Socorro, New Mexico
TDS Telecommunications’ fiber network build in Socorro is now complete, making it the only provider delivering all-fiber internet service in the area. This project connects nearly 2,900 Socorro addresses to the new infrastructure.

Wire 3’s Athens build continues its Georgia network expansion

Construction is expected to begin this fall, and Wire 3 expects to connect its first customers in Athens as early as this winter. Wire 3's Georgia expansion continues to gain momentum as the company rapidly grows its footprint across its second state. With its $60 million Macon expansion and $37 million Albany expansion currently underway, alongside the recently announced $38 million expansion in Warner Robins and Centerville, Wire 3 is accelerating the rollout of its fiber network to communities across the state.
