Building Broadband: Lightcurve taps Harmonic to fuel its coax-based multi-gig MDU broadband service initiative

Lightcurve, Bigleaf Networks, GoNetspeed, Kinetic, Rightfiber, and Xfinity are all expanding their broadband reach through public and private funding sources.

Lightcurve is leveraging Harmonic’s platforms to deliver fiber-like broadband speed to MDUs over existing coax. Joining Lightcurve are Bigleaf Networks, GoNetspeed, Kinetic, Rightfiber, and Xfinity, which are all expanding their broadband reach through public and private funding sources.

Lightcurve taps Harmonic to fuel its coax-based multi-gig MDU broadband service
Lightcurve is delivering multi-gigabit services to Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) over existing coax wiring using Harmonic's cOS™ virtualized broadband platform. The Harmonic solution enables Lightcurve to offer fiber-like speeds of up to 8/1 Gbps without replacing the buildings' existing coax wiring. This approach helps Lightcurve strengthen its competitive market positioning and meet subscriber demand for higher speeds while maximizing the value of its network investments. Lightcurve is advancing its multi-gigabit broadband service strategy through a software upgrade of the cOS Core combined with the deployment of Harmonic's compact low-power Oyster nodes equipped with Pebble Remote PHY devices in a distributed access architecture (DAA). The cOS virtualized platform supports both DOCSIS and fiber, giving the operator the optionality to evolve its network as customer demand and investment priorities shift.

Bigleaf Networks and CTS Mobility to jointly deliver wired, wireless, and Starlink connectivity to businesses
Bigleaf Networks entered a strategic partnership with CTS Mobility to help businesses deploy networks that combine wired, wireless, and satellite connectivity. As organizations increasingly adopt fixed wireless and satellite services to accelerate deployments, support distributed locations, and improve business continuity, ensuring consistent application performance across diverse circuit types has become a growing challenge. Through this partnership, CTS Mobility customers can bond fiber, broadband, 5G, fixed wireless, and Starlink connections with Bigleaf's intelligent network performance layer to deliver a more reliable user experience for cloud applications, voice, video, and business-critical workloads. A driving focus of the partnership is helping customers unlock greater value from Starlink. As satellite connectivity becomes an increasingly attractive option for businesses seeking rapid deployment, geographic flexibility, and network diversity, Bigleaf enables Starlink to operate as part of an intelligent, application-aware connectivity strategy. By automatically steering traffic across available circuits based on real-time network conditions, Bigleaf helps businesses maximize Starlink's performance and business value alongside wired and wireless connections.
