Submer’s Radian Arc acquisition adds another piece to its full-stack cloud puzzle
Key Highlights
- Submer’s acquisition of Radian Arc completes its full-stack cloud infrastructure, integrating AI, edge computing, and sovereign cloud capabilities.
- The combined company will serve over 70 telecom and edge compute customers globally, with thousands of GPUs in operation.
- Submer will continue offering modular AI data centers, liquid cooling solutions, and large-scale deployments across Europe, the US, and beyond.
- Access to extensive land and power pipelines exceeding 5GW will enable rapid deployment of next-generation AI infrastructure.
- This strategic move positions Submer as a comprehensive partner for end-to-end AI infrastructure solutions worldwide.
Submer, a modular datacenter infrastructure builder and manager, is acquiring Radian Arc Operations Pty Ltd, an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform provider, in a bid to compete in the telco-focused cloud services market more effectively.
Radian Arc Operations is an established provider of an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform for running sovereign, telco-focused GPU cloud services.
Submer said the acquisition completes its full-stack cloud offering by bringing together InferX, Submer’s NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) platform launched earlier this year, with Radian Arc’s carrier-embedded GPU edge computing platform.
“This acquisition of Radian Arc completes our full-stack cloud infrastructure,” said Patrick Smets, CEO at Submer. “Bringing Radian Arc together with InferX, our AI operations and delivery platform, forms a dual-plane, sovereign, telco-focused cloud offering that is highly competitive in today’s AI datacenter market.”
Enhanced customer reach
The acquisition brings Submer a diversified, long-term customer base with real-world, monetizable use cases already in operation. Radian Arc is deployed across 70+ telecom and edge compute customers globally, with thousands of GPUs in operation.
Submer will now have an even larger footprint across North America, Europe, the UK, India, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific.
David Cook, CEO of Radian Arc, said that becoming part of Submer will enable the company to better respond to its customers’ service needs.
“By joining Submer’s established partner ecosystem, we are now in a position to accelerate delivery of sovereign AI infrastructure faster and with lower latency to telecoms operators worldwide,” he said.
Data center cooling market growth accelerates
The data center build-out surge is driving greater growth in the Data Center Physical Infrastructure (DCPI) market, which Dell’Oro forecasts will grow at a mid-teen CAGR from 2025 to 2030, surpassing $80 billion. As more data centers get built, cooling systems will be an even bigger factor. Dell’Oro noted that thermal management is projected to grow at a 20 percent CAGR and reach the value of the UPS market by the end of the decade, underscoring cooling’s evolution from a supporting function into a primary determinant of data center design. Also, the research firm forecast that direct liquid cooling is “forecast to surge,” surpassing $8 billion by 2030, as it transitions from an enabling option to a foundational technology for AI factories.
Full-stack product set
As a combined company, Submer and Radian Arc will deliver a large set of AI cloud business services that combine InferX (NCP), Radian Arc’s sovereign and telco-grade edge cloud capabilities, and AI inference platforms, enabling scalable, monetizable AI workloads through partner-enabled ecosystems.
Submer will continue to offer its data center design and build capabilities focused on delivering turnkey, modular AI data centers and supporting large-scale enterprise and hyperscale-class deployments across Europe and the United States.
Its expanded customer base will also be able to get access to Submer’s IT and liquid cooling expertise – spanning in-house system design, installation, advanced liquid cooling and integrated AI compute platforms with networking and storage, delivered directly or through strategic partners.
Power is also a major factor that will benefit customers from this acquisition. Submer comes to the table with access to a wide array of land and power pipelines – exceeding 5GW across the UK, USA, India, and the Middle East through partner consortia, enabling rapid deployment of next-generation AI infrastructure.
"Joining forces with the RadianArc team and their edge compute platform is an exciting next step, further strengthening our position as the single accountable partner for end-to-end AI infrastructure,” said Smets.
