ZTE: Optical Diagnostic System Based on AI Technology
ZTE’s ZENIC ONE system can predict fiber degradation by monitoring changes in optical power and undulation frequency, generating an early warning before the threshold is exceeded. A service provider's operations and maintenance (O&M) staff can repair the fiber before faults occur, improving overall Optical Transport Network (OTN) reliability by 10%. ZENIC ONE can identify co-cable risks by triggering OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) units to detect and analyze fiber cables and network topology. It can also automatically create a Sharing Risk Link Group (SRLG) when a co-route situation is identified. During path calculation, the working and protection paths do not share fibers within the same SRLG, reducing manual identification effort and improving both identification accuracy and service reliability. By leveraging ZENIC ONE, China Mobile Hubei increased their network reliability by 20%.
Judge’s comment: “The ZENIC ONE system provides a great example of an AI agent application that can automate and simplify common operations and monitoring tasks in live networks.”
