I-Logix Inc. announced that San Jose-based Tiara Networks Inc., a provider of distributed edge networking solutions for broadband IP and packet based services, realized strong ROI after deploying I-Logix' Rhapsody in C into its product development process. The company, which previously developed embedded systems with hand-written code, successfully implemented I-Logix' solutions and is experiencing simpler, more streamlined processes as well as increased collaboration among team members, leading to higher productivity.

"One of the most visible benefits that Tiara Networks has seen since deploying I-Logix' application development platform is the ease with which our developers can now work modularly, allowing teams to re-use certain aspects of the design," said Josh Sakov, vice president of technology for Tiara Networks.

Tiara Networks uses Rhapsody in C to develop its networking products in two key areas: control software Layer 1 for configuring, monitoring and diagnosis of hundreds of telecommunications interfaces and control software Layer 2 to provision, negotiate and monitor thousands of instances of PPP/MLPPP, FR/MLFR and HDLC protocols. The company is a provider of multi-functional network edge switch routers that enable carriers, service providers and enterprise customers to increase the performance and service capabilities of copper and fiber metro and access networks while reducing transport and capital costs. Tiara Networks' distributed edge networking products converge broadband IP and frame-based capabilities into a single low-cost system. Its solution consists of an advanced family of compact, high-performance edge switch routers that deliver next-generation IP, Frame Relay and Ethernet access and services.
