MAY 19, 2009 ECI Telecom (search Lightwave for ECI Telecom) says it has been chosen as the sole supplier by the Telecoms Infrastructure Corp. of the Philippines (TELICPHIL), a consortium of seven franchised telecom operators, to expand the consortium's National Digital Transmission Network (NDTN).

As a joint project, the NDTN is used by its co-owners to lease bandwidth and deliver communication services nationwide across the Philippines. Using ECI's XDM Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP), NDTN co-owners through TELICPHIL will extend the NDTN to provide for a 2x10-Gbps DWDM backbone network and offer greater bandwidth capacity for new revenue-generating data and international-calling services, while enabling future migration to a next-generation network.

"We selected ECI's XDM DWDM solution for its field-proven reliability and the flexibility it provides as a future-proof platform. Having established a strong mutual relationship during the past five years, we are confident in the company's technological leadership and top-quality service support," said Dave M. Rogers, chief technical consultant of TELICPHIL.
