Located in in Fresno County, the city of Sanger has a population of around 24,000, and a reputation as the country's Christmas tree city. The region is known for being at the center of what Comcast Business says is one of the world's most diversified agricultural areas. The network improvements will draw further high-tech manufacturing jobs into the region, the service provider asserts.

In addition to Comcast Business' investment, Sanger made a contribution of $90,000 to build out 3 miles of new fiber-optic cable, supporting local businesses' needs. According to the company, the network-based services enable organizations to advance in today's global economy. Small and medium sized businesses, and select enterprises have Ethernet dedicated internet access (DIA), Ethernet private line, Ethernet virtual private line, Ethernet network services, and a suite of other Comcast Business Ethernet choices.

Comcast Business says that companies are also deploying its Voice Edge to help customers run their businesses efficiently. This service connects businesses through HD-quality voice service, a mobile app feature, telephony toolbar, and a "be anywhere" call forwarding feature.

"Sanger's city leadership recognizes that a robust network infrastructure is key to remaining competitive, attracting businesses, supporting residents, and fueling economic growth overall," said Frank Gonzalez, Mayor of Sanger. "Our collaboration with Comcast Business on the Kings River Tech Park project will benefit the city of Sanger in numerous important ways, today and into the future."

In addition to expanding its fiber-optic network in Sanger, Comcast Business hasprovided multi-gigabit fiber-based Ethernet options on the West Coast through a $6 million investment in San Jose (see "Comcast Business invests millions in San Jose fiber network expansion"). However, the company also plans to serve businesses in some markets via its hybrid fiber/coax infrastructure via DOCSIS 3.1 technology (see, for example, "Comcast Business adds DOCSIS 3.1 based business services in U.S. Northeast, Mid-Atlantic""Comcast Business adds DOCSIS 3.1 based business services in U.S. Northeast, Mid-Atlantic").
