Unite Private Networks (UPN) says it has expanded its fiber-optic network in the Kansas City metro area. The 25-mile route will stretch from UPN's existing network at Interstate 435 near Lenexa, KS, extending down the Highway 69 corridor to Louisburg, KS. The recently approved fiber cable deployment is in support of two carrier customers UPN did not identify.

This build-out adds to other recent network expansion activities in the broader Kansas City market in support of several local school districts, data centers, government, and enterprise business customers.

"UPN is excited to extend our world class fiber network south to the Louisburg community," stated Jason W. Adkins, senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We are looking forward to working with enterprise business, government, data center, and carrier customers to provide dark fiber, Ethernet, wavelength, and IP services to this area by expanding our Kansas City footprint to the south."
