ADVA Optical Networking claims pair of 400-Gbps deployments for FSP 3000 CloudConnect data center interconnect platform

ADVA Optical Networking today has revealed the names of two customers who will deploy the company’s FSP 3000 CloudConnect data center interconnect platform to enable 400-Gbps optical transmission. Both the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) and Netnod, a Norwegian internet exchange operator, will leverage the system’s QuadFlex 400-Gbps coherent transmission.

ADVA Optical Networking today has revealed the names of two customers who will deploy the company's FSP 3000 CloudConnect data center interconnect platform to enable 400-Gbps optical transmission. Both the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC) and Netnod, a Norwegian internet exchange operator, will leverage the system's QuadFlex 400-Gbps coherent transmission.

QuadFlex enables the transmission of a pair of 200-Gbps carriers within a superchannel based on 16QAM modulation.

PSNC operates Poland's PIONIER research and education network and is a longstanding ADVA customer (see, for example, "PSNC deploys ADVA 100G FSP 3000 in PIONIER research and education network"). ADVA says the FSP 3000 CloudConnect is supporting 96 channels over 385 km without the need for regeneration.

In Norway, Netrod will use the FSP 3000 CloudConnect with QuadFlex to support its new Optical IX service alongside ADVA's ROADMs and FSP Network Hypervisor. The service is designed to provide customers to configure connectivity options themselves, including interconnect across the optical, physical or data link network layer. Customers also can select single ports or fully redundant options.
