VCSEL for singlemode fibers

This VCSEL module designed for singlemode fiber applications is being introduced by OECA Opto-Electronic Components & Applications GmbH. The 1A444 OECA-ST101CSM VCSEL diode is aligned in a receptacle for ST cables with singlemode fiber. The module, operating at a wavelength of 840 nm, has 50-microwatt minimum power in 9/125-micron fiber with a forward current of 10 mA. The VCSEL can be modulated up to 2 GHz. Applications include local area networks, digital video transmission, and sensors.
