MARCH 20, 2009 -- JDSU will highlight technologies from its optical communications and communications test and measurement portfolios at OFC/NFOEC 2009.

MARCH 20, 2009 - JDSU (search Lightwave for JDSU) will highlight technologies from its optical communications and communications test and measurement portfolios at OFC/NFOEC 2009 in San Diego, CA from March 22-26, at Booth #2015.

JDSU's communications product offerings will include:

  • A photonic integrated amplifier, which the company says is the industry's only photonic integrated amplifier platform that is dynamically reconfigurable for a variety of amplifier functions.
  • AON Super Transport Blade, a single-slot blade that delivers all major functions required for optical network transport.
  • Tunable transmission products that will enable new deployment models for NEMs.
  • SP High-powered terrestrial laser pump preview.

The company will also highlight the following test and measurement products:

  • mOPM optical power meter for the MAP-200 platform that provides an increased input power range and other new features.
  • HP3-60 Fiber inspection and test system for combined fiber inspection and optical power measurement in one handheld device.
  • T-BERD/MTS-4000 multiple services test platform designed for all phases of the network lifecycle, from installation to maintenance of access/FTTX networks and triple-play services.
  • SMART optical channel checkers (OCC-55 CWDM and OCC-56 DWDM), compact and low-cost alternatives to optical spectrum analyzers for CWDM and DWDM test applications.

During OFC/NFOEC, JDSU experts will provide industry insight and commentary during several panel sessions. During "Optical Components: Technology for New Business Strategies" OSA Executive Committee Forum, Alan Lowe, president of the Commercial and Communications Optical Products business segment at JDSU, will share strategies alongside other industry leaders about how to maneuver through today's challenging business environment (Monday, March 23, 11:30 a.m., Room 28, San Diego Convention Center).

Doug Alteen, product line manager in the Commercial and Communications Optical Products business segment at JDSU, will discuss with other industry experts how ROADMs and other optical switching technology can help network operators evolve networks while managing costs during the "Optical Switching and Reconfigurable Networks: Balancing Agility, Reliability, and Economy as Networks Evolve" MarketWatch Panel (Thursday, March 26, 10:00 a.m., Exhibit Floor Theater).

JDSU experts also will present technology papers during the event. To see a list of invited speakers, visit www.ofcnfoec.org.
