Arrayed waveguide-grating demultiplexers

These AWG demultiplexers use planar lightwave circuit technology and demultiplexes up to 32 channels with 100-GHz (0.8-nm) channel spacing. Insertion loss is <6 dB with better than 23-dB crosstalk. A bidirectional device is also available, in which the input is incident from both sides of the device. This is equivalent to having two devices in a single package.
