August 14, 2006 Milpitas, CA -- Lightwaves2020 today announced the availability of its J²waves 2011 multi-functional meter, designed for use in a range of applications, including network installation, network monitoring, CATV measurements, FTTx testing, and manufacturing.

The J²waves 2011 can be used to measure the wavelength of C-, L-, and C- + L-band lasers as well as fiber lasers. Economical and easy-to-use, the power meter is suitable for both singlemode and multimode applications, say company representatives. The unit was designed to operate in the rough cable installation and maintenance environment and is ideal for characterizing FTTx network compliance.

The J²waves 2011 also features log/linear display modes, auto ranging, user calibration, and reference measurement capabilities. It comes with Lightwaves2020's control and monitoring GUI software.
