EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) has introduced the IQS-2800 integrable tunable laser assembly (ITLA) tunable laser source, jointly developed with Coherent Solutions (see "Southern Photonics changes name to Coherent Solutions") and exclusively available from EXFO.

Housed in the IQS-636 platform, the IQS-2800 is a modular test platform that provides researchers and engineers with a comprehensive way to design and test technology for future ultra-high-capacity network architectures, including those based on advanced modulation formats such as dual-polarization quadrature phase-shift keying (DP-QPSK). The lasers are tunable over the C and L bands with a 10-pm resolution.

EXFO says the IQS-2800 ITLA tunable laser source is a cost-effective and versatile instrument for a range of applications, including coherent/OFDM transmission and WDM network emulation. The IQS-2800 delivers the high power output, 100-kHz narrow linewidth, and high-resolution tunability required by today’s demanding applications, including 100G and 400G coherent transmission.

The IQS-2800 is available now.
