May 18, 2006 Milpitas, CA -- JDSU announced that Eurofiber, a specialized provider of managed dark fiber in the Benelux, has purchased JDSU's Optical Network Management System (ONMS) to monitor the quality of service of its dark-fiber network infrastructure. The agreement includes options for future service-level agreement (SLA) and network support.

The vendor says its ONMS was selected by Eurofiber because it enables real-time service, test, and performance monitoring over active/live fiber, which improves quality of service, especially for broadband services.

"The JDSU monitoring system enables us to guarantee the highest possible availability and reliability of our network and thus gives us a tool to give our customers the best possible service," said Joost Goderie, CEO of Eurofiber.

Eurofiber provides its managed dark-fiber connectivity via its own fiber-optic network in the Benelux. The network covers 3,400 km, connecting 96 large municipalities and 11 metropolitan area networks. In addition to providing capacity to carriers, ISPs, and three of the four Dutch mobile operators, Eurofiber delivers high-speed connectivity, support, and customer care to a growing number of companies and not-for-profit organizations.
