Broadband Technology Report (BTR) is now accepting entries for the 2017 Diamond Technology Reviews program. The 12th edition of the Diamond Technology Reviews comes with a twist -- this year, the program's panel of independent judges will determine finalists and winners in 16 categories.
In the past, the judges have rated each entry on a score of one to five Diamonds based on its uniqueness, innovation, ease of use, efficiency, reliability, and contribution to profitability. Entries that achieved a score of at least 3.5 Diamonds were recognized for their Elite Score status (see, for example, "Diamond Technology Reviews 2016").
This year, the judges will again award a score of one to five Diamonds to each entry. However, the entries will be grouped into 16 technology categories, and entries that receive the top score in each category will win that category.
So, yes, finally – you can win a Diamond Technology Award.
The 16 categories include:
- Active Network Hardware
- Back Office
- Cabling and Accessories
- CCAP Systems
- CPE
- Content Discovery
- Field Test Instruments
- FTTH/Optical Access Platforms
- Monitoring & Analysis
- Network-Level Test Instruments
- Optical Transport/Carrier Ethernet
- SDN/NFV/Cloud
- Video Content Security
- Video Distribution Solutions
- Video Processing Solutions
- Wi-Fi Solutions
Winners will be announced October 18 at a reception during the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, CO.
"The Diamond Technology Reviews has always recognized innovation in technology for cable operator networks," said BTR Editorial Director, Stephen Hardy. "Our new format enables us to highlight advances in a wider variety of areas, as well as rewarding those companies whose work likely will have the greatest impact on our audience."
The early-bird deadline for submissions is June 12. The final deadline is June 26. Entries can be submitted through the program submission engine. For additional information, visit the 2017 Diamond Technology Reviews homepage.
Submitted products must be new since last year's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo or have received a major upgrade since that time. Products introduced before or at last year's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo that have not been upgraded significantly in the past year are not eligible for submission.
