TV ISLA taps Setplex to deliver IPTV services in Colombia

Utilizing the Setplex OTT platform, TV ISLA on the Colombian island of San Andrés will now offer 110 channels.

Setplex, a provider of end-to-end OTT platforms for service providers, announced that it has been selected by TV ISLA, the provider of paid TV on the Colombian island of San Andrés, to deliver a range of IPTV services.

San Andrés is the Colombian island off Nicaragua in the Caribbean. Part of an archipelago that includes Providencia and Santa Catalina, the island’s telecommunications and television services are offered through TV ISLA. Addressing the strong demand for digital television services, TV ISLA leveraged Setplex technology to stream content and programming.

Utilizing the Setplex OTT platform, TV ISLA will now offer 110 channels, including news, sports, entertainment, and premium programs. The roll-out will serve a market of approximately 80,000 people on the island of San Andrés, and then expand to other locations throughout Colombia.

Setplex notes provides a comprehensive, single-source platform to deliver OTT and IPTV services. The platform includes everything from encoding and transcoding of video to the development of multi-screen apps, delivery of content via content delivery network (CDN), subscriber, device, and security management, and real-time analytics.

Further, as part of the San Andrés deployment, Setplex will integrate video intelligence company NPAW’s video intelligence capabilities, offering advanced monitoring and deep analysis of streaming performance, video usage, location, and the types of devices used to consume content.
