Cable ONE Business is expanding its nationwide network with the launch of a new point of presence (POP) in the Equinix Data Center, located inside the Westin Building Exchange in downtown Seattle. The POP is Cable ONE's first in Washington.

"Cable ONE Business is excited to provide our carrier partners with a connection point in the Westin Building Exchange," said Chris Boone, vice president of business services for Cable ONE. "Adding a connection point in the Seattle hub enables us to decrease latency, reduce hop counts and increase reliability for our partners and their customers in the Pacific Northwest."

Seattle features a dense concentration of network, cloud and IT service providers, and is one of the largest network traffic routes in the country. Offering more than 60,000 square feet of colocation space, the Westin Building Exchange supplies a range of colocation, interconnection and support services.

The new POP is intended to allow Westin Building Exchange tenants to exchange IP traffic with Cable ONE's nationwide network. It also provides access to Cable ONE's IP network through 10GigE and GigE ports.

"The addition of the Seattle POP to our network adds a critical metropolitan connection point in the previously underserved Western U.S.," Boone said.

Cable ONE Business now has POPs in eight metro areas, including Seattle, Boise, Phoenix, Kansas City, Dallas, Corpus Christi, Chicago and Atlanta.
