Atlantic Broadband has deployed DOCSIS 3.1-based gigabit Internet service in Miami Beach, FL, and surrounding areas. Effective immediately, both GigaEdge (residential) and Pro GigaEdge (business) Internet services are available in Miami Beach and surrounding areas including Aventura, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Golden Beach, North Bay Village, Pinecrest, South Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, Brickell, Wynwood, the Biscayne corridor and downtown Miami.
Atlantic Broadband's fastest speeds will increase from 250 Mbps downstream and 20 Mbps upstream to 1 Gbps/50 Mbps. Promotional pricing starts at $89.99 a month for new residential customers and $199.99 a month for new business customers with a 3-year agreement. The DOCSIS 3.1 service is based on Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) CMTSs and Technicolor modems.
