Comcast announced on March 25 that it has brought a new network online in parts of Houston County, Alabama.

The company reports that homes and businesses in five communities (Ashford, Cottonwood, Cowarts, Kinsey, and Webb) now have access to Xfinity and Comcast Business services. The new network is the result of a $4.5 million investment.

Jeff Buzzelli, senior vice president of Comcast’s Florida Region, said in a press release, “Comcast has proudly served the Dothan community for many years. We’re thrilled more areas of Southeast Alabama are now online and can access our powerful network. This is a big moment for us and these wonderful communities as more Alabamians can now connect to fast, reliable internet. Whether it’s connecting with loved ones or pursuing employment opportunities, there’s a future of unlimited possibilities. We’re proud Comcast chose to invest millions in Houston County.”

The network gives Houston County residents access to up to 1.2 Gbps internet speeds and businesses will have access to speeds of up to 100 Gbps.
