Ciena 5164

Sept. 22, 2021
Ciena’s 5164 Router is purpose-built for 5G networks that converge 4G/5G fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul (xHaul) networks onto a common, simpler infrastructure.

Ciena’s 5164 Router is purpose-built for 5G networks that converge 4G/5G fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul (xHaul) networks onto a common, simpler infrastructure. With dense 1/10/25GbE/10G PON to 100/200GbE aggregation and support for both hard network slicing (Flex Ethernet) and soft network slicing (Segment Routing), the temperature-hardened 5164 simplifies and de-risks the unique 4G to 5G journeys of wholesale operators, advanced 10G PON access, and legacy private-line services.

Judge’s Comment: “Ciena’s 5164 Router can help an operator looking to serve the xHaul demands of mobile operators. It packs an impressive amount of capability into a 1RU form factor.”
