ARRIS ServAssure Alarm Central Virtual Spectrum

Sept. 26, 2017

ARRIS ServAssure Alarm Central Virtual Spectrum Analyzer is designed to provide cable operators with an easy way to inspect signal performance and better prepare for a DOCSIS 3.1 launch and subsequently check performance, without rolling a truck.

By deploying the Virtual Spectrum Analyzer, cable operators can anticipate additional opex and/or capex savings due to less need for investment in complex and expensive hardware spectrum analyzers. Alarm Central helps broadband cable engineers proactively maintain the HFC network, enabling them to deliver a superior customer experience, ARRIS says. Virtual Spectrum Analyzer's features include:

  • Automated detection and management of HFC plant outages and proactive impairments
  • Near real-time outage detection for fast MTTR
  • Automated verification of alarms to eliminate false positives and improve operational efficiency
  • Real-time problem verification while techs are onsite, reducing repeat truck rolls
  • Proactively addresses amplifier issues affecting multiple customers
  • Improved alarm propagation including above the fiber node for accurate root cause detection
  • Escalation to third-party tools to create an automated end-to-end ecosystem
  • Cloud hosting support, which reduces operator IT expense and simplifies deployments
