Blown fiber and network technology vendor Emtelle has joined with optical cable manufacturer Incab to create Emcab, a new fiber cable manufacturing joint venture headquartered in Germany. Emcab will manufacture fiber-optic cable compatible with Emtelle’s FibreFlow duct and microduct offerings as well as a wide range of applications that include submarine networks and direct burial.
Emtelle already provides a range of fiber cable, while Incab has production facilities in Russia and in the U.S. Emcab’s main facilities will be in Erfut, Germany, where Emtelle already has a presence. The joint venture’s initial product line includes fiber cables with counts as high as 864. The cable will leverage fiber from Corning. The company is fully up and running under the leadership of Managing Director Robert Deffa-Wilk, who is supported by a global sales and technical team.
“Emcab joins Emtelle’s blown fiber and microduct manufacturing experience with the fiber-optic cable capabilities of Incab, to offer a truly best-in-class fiber connectivity solution,” explained Tony Rodgers, CEO of Emtelle. “We have rigorously tested individual products to ensure that we can go to the market with fully optimized fiber and cable solutions with guaranteed compatibility. The additional fiber capacity this venture brings to Emtelle further enhances the fiber-in-tube capability and capacity, with guaranteed operability between fiber and duct. This is the solution our customers have been asking the market for – cables and ducts that are matched and straight off the drum, guaranteed.”
“Combining the technical experience and capabilities of both Emtelle and Incab made logical sense to build Emcab and conquer the industry with such high-quality optical cable solutions,” commented Aleхander Smilgevich, CEO of Incab. “Emcab’s primary manufacturing plant is in Erfurt, Germany, which further elevates the service we can provide to the European market, but we will also be manufacturing Emcab cables across four worldwide locations – Erfurt; Hawick, Scotland; Perm, Russia; and Arlington, USA. This ability allows us to widen our supply to our customers across a larger geographical area in an efficient manner.”
