Taking another step toward full integration with Adtran, ADVA (FSE: ADV) says it is adopting Adtran Networks SE as its new name. Participants in the company’s 2023 Annual General Meeting approved the change May 24, 2023, and the new moniker was registered in the commercial register of the local court of Jena on June 8, 2023.

“The name change from ADVA to Adtran Networks marks another major milestone for our company,” said Christoph Glingener, CEO of Adtran Networks (but not for much longer). “As a combined organization, we have the opportunity to become a global leader and help our customers drive even greater value from their networks.”

Adtran and ADVA announced their plans to merge on August 30, 2021 (see “ADTRAN, ADVA to merge for metro to access play”). The move combines Adtran strengths in access networking with ADVA’s expertise in metro and regional networking technologies.
