Sandra D. Motley new president of Nokia’s Fixed Networks Business Group
Nokia today named Sandra D. Motley has been promoted from COO of Nokia’s Fixed Networks Business Group to the unit’s president. The move, which became effective January 1, sees her replace Federico Guillén, who shifted from the Fixed Networks Business Group to become president of customer operations, EMEA & APAC effective on the same date (see “Nokia names Corker, Guillén regional directors; Chowdhary to depart”). She reports to Nokia President and CEO Rajeev Suri.
Motley brings a background in business development, sales, marketing, research, product development, portfolio management, and strategy to her new role. She launched her career at AT&T Bell Laboratories, moved to Alcatel-Lucent and held a variety of R&D and sales leadership positions in both fixed and wireless businesses, and then joined Nokia in 2016 when her current company bought her former one.
"Sandy is an exceptional leader with comprehensive executive management background across global business functions, and she brings business acumen, strong customer relationship skills, and proven success in leading cross-functional teams to deliver on challenging business and operational objectives. I am pleased that she has accepted this role," said Suri.
The new roles for Motley and Guillén come as Nokia has reshaped its operations for 2019 (see “Nokia combines fixed and mobile business in new Access Networks Division”).
