Comcast Business to buy Masergy for cloud, SDN resources
Comcast Business says it will beef up its cloud and software-defined networking (SDN) capabilities through the acquisition of Masergy. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed nor was Comcast’s expectations on when the transaction will close.
Maserty, based in Plano, TX, offers a range of secure cloud-based services to enterprises. They include managed SD-WAN, unified communications as a service (UCaaS), call center as a service (CCaaS), and managed security (see, for an early example, "Masergy adds second SD-WAN option with SD-WAN Go"). The company says it has a customer base of more than 1400 enterprise clients spread across almost 100 countries. Berkshire Partners acquired the company in 2016 from ABRY Partners (see "Berkshire Partners to buy Masergy Communications").
