July 19, 2006 Livermore, CA -- EPON/GEPON system provider Alloptic has signed a reseller agreement with value-added partner Datagrama Comunicaciones of Costa Rica as part of its continuing expansion into Central and Latin America. Datagrama Comunicaciones serves Central America in the telecommunications, data communications, and security markets.
"Our agreement with Alloptic provides us access to Alloptic's leading GEPON solution which adds a proven, feature-rich, standards-based platform that lies at the core of the total solutions that we offer to our customers," contends Jose Antonio Esquivel, FTTH product manager of Datagrama Comunicaciones SA. "We are seeing a growing demand for a flexible, reliable converged services platform, capable of supporting voice, data, and video services in communities and industrial sites. We extensively researched potential partners and technologies, and Alloptic's Gigabit Ethernet-based PON solution was the clear winner," he adds.
According to Alloptic, its access network system has been deployed around the world and offers the only GEPON solution with five years of field hardened, operational history. The Alloptic system leverages a standard ITU PON architecture while delivering a gigabit of bandwidth. With a native ability to support traditional TDM voice over an Ethernet-based platform, Alloptic is able to provide today's telephone services while supporting next-generation services like IP HDTV.
