Single fusion splicer

The remote diagnostic capability of the Type 36 single fusion splicer lets technicians provide off-site maintenance support and systems upgrades directly to installation personnel at the job site. The splicer accommodates singlemode, multimode, dispersion-shifted, dispersion-compensated, cut-off shifted, and Er-doped fiber. Splice time averages 25 sec per operation.
