CSI rebrands fiber product line

MARCH 19, 2009 -- Communications Specialties Inc. (CSI) has consolidated its two fiber optic product lines, Fiberlink and Pure Digital Fiberlink, under the name Fiberlink.

MARCH 19, 2009 -- Communications Specialties Inc. (CSI; search Lightwave for Communications Specialties) has consolidated its two fiber optic product lines, Fiberlink and Pure Digital Fiberlink, under the name Fiberlink.

The Fiberlink products are point-to-point fiber-optic transmission systems for video, audio and data.

"There was a time when it was very important to clearly differentiate the two core fiber optic technologies that we provided to our customers, digital and analog, because we have always been at the forefront of the technology," says John Lopinto, president and CEO. "Now that digital fiber-optic technology has become the foundation for all of our fiber-optic products, maintaining two brands is no longer necessary."

CSI says nothing about the products themselves have changed and the company will continue to offer the analog fiber-optic products.
