February 23, 2006 Portland, OR -- Timbercon, a manufacturer of fiber-optic products for a range of connectivity applications, has introduced custom engineering and custom product development services for its customers. The company says its services are designed to assist customers in the creation, planning, design, and manufacture of custom fiber-optic products to improve performance and longevity for specific applications.

The expanded services build on the company's existing engineering and development services, and follow the recent addition of research and development facilities designed to provide resources focused on application specific and custom projects. The company maintains that custom product solutions are often more efficient and cost-effective than standard products, and represent a higher performance alternative. The company says its services assist customers through the entire product development process, from concept and development to manufacturing and implementation.

"More and more of our clients are requiring a custom-engineered product designed for their specific application," comments Jayson Lizardo, product manager for Timbercon. "We're finding an increasing number of applications where a standard product alternative is just not performance and cost-effective for our clients, and we're listening to their needs by upgrading our services."

The company's services for product development and custom engineering services including: application product design, COTS (commercial off the shelf) product customization, product re-certification, and product installation/implementation.

The company will be exhibiting at next month's OFC/NFOEC in Anaheim, CA.
