FirstComm, a managed services provider, has launched FusionOne, a 5G SD-WAN backup solution designed to provide a wireless solution to keep small and mid-sized businesses online.

Leveraging Peplink's enterprise-grade SpeedFusion Technology, FirstComm's FusionOne solution combines a customer's existing broadband connection with a built-in 5G failover link, ensuring always-on internet access.

The product features dual WAN + built-in wireless 5G failover via Verizon or AT&T.

Paul Van Hyfte, CEO of FirstComm, said that FusionOne builds on the company’s mission “to keep businesses connected under any circumstances.”

Focus on uptime

FusionOne should appeal to the diverse nature of the small to medium-sized business market.

In particular, the service provider targets critical industries that require consistent up time, including, but not limited to, banking, education and healthcare.

These industry segments need on-demand connectivity to maintain the flow of financial transactions running or to ensure telehealth sessions and remote learning stay online.

FusionOne delivers a primary and seamless 5G backup connection in a single managed solution, ensuring no internet outages or dropped calls, and transactions/applications stay running without interruption. It also offers cloud-based monitoring portal access.

Predictable pricing

Given the fact that many small to medium businesses have strict budgets, the predictable pricing of FusionOne could also be a key selling point for FirstComm.

Hardware, 5G service, and support are all bundled at a predictable cost, making reliable connectivity affordable for small to mid-sized businesses.

FirstComm’s SD-WAN solution includes Peplink’s B One 5G platform. Designed for small office and light mobility use, Peplink B One 5G is the next generation in entry-level multi-WAN mobile routers.

For $140/month, the service includes pre-configured hardware, unlimited 5G backup, cloud monitoring, and 24/7/365 local support.
