July 31, 2006 Stockholm -- Net Insight has received an order from a European broadcaster regarding a contribution network for video and data transport between several cities. The equipment will be delivered in August, and the network will be operational during September 2006.
Today, the customer leases a number of services from several service providers but will now be able to manage and operate their own fiber-based network as well as have access to a much more efficient transport between their production locations, say Net Insight representatives.
"It is very exciting that an increased number of broadcasters choose Net Insight's solution for fiber optical transport of voice, data, and video," contends Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight. "Net Insight is now becoming a more known supplier in Europe as well as USA and Asia."
Net Insight delivers video-efficient, scaleable optical transport for media, broadcast, broadband, and digital-terrestrial TV networks. According to the company, its Nimbra platform serves as a catalyst for the migration of video, voice, and data to a converged IP transport network. Net Insight products currently deliver mission-critical video services to over a 100 million people in 20 countries, claim company representatives.
