NTT Communications lands in Equinix Dublin data center
NTT Communications Corp. (NTT Com) says it has established a point of presence (PoP) at Equinix’s DB1 data center in Dublin, Ireland. The PoP is NTT Com’s first in Dublin and will target global companies and organizations that have established their European headquarters and/or operational organizations in the city.
The service provider will offer customers at DB1 access to the NTT Com Global IP Network at various capacity levels with confirmed diversity and direct connections to Amsterdam and London. These offerings include 100-Gbps ports.
“The new PoP in Dublin fits our strategy to take NTT Com’s global backbone into some of the fastest-growing Internet markets,” said Michael Wheeler, executive vice president of NTT Communications Global IP Network at NTT America. “This location will not only serve new customers looking for high-capacity, high-quality IP transit services but also many of our current global customers that have established operations or are considering expansions in the Dublin area. Overall, this is a very exciting market for us.”
The move into Dublin follows the creation of a PoP at an Equinix facility in Manchester, UK (see "NTT plans Global IP Network expansion with new PoP in Manchester").
