Albis Optoelectronics: PQS40A-L

The Albis Optoelectronics PQS40A-L is a long-wavelength, high-speed microwave photodiode module designed for direct optical-to-electrical conversion of RF-modulated optical signals.
The Albis Optoelectronics PQS40A-L is a long-wavelength, high-speed microwave photodiode module designed for direct optical-to-electrical conversion of RF-modulated optical signals. This product is optimized for space-based photonic RF applications in the C-, X-, Ku-, Ka-, and lower parts of the Q-band. The photodiode inside this module is an InGaAs/InP high-speed photodiode chip with a monolithically integrated backside lens. This backside lens enables an optimized optical system with high optical coupling efficiency and large alignment tolerances, making it possible to fabricate packaged photodiodes with low coupling losses in a cost-efficient manner.

Judge’s Comment: “The PQS40A-L is a very capable RF output photodiode. It could form the heart of an optical-to-electrical conversion for a range of applications. The combination of bandwidth and responsivity is excellent.”
