OptoTest says it will now offer simplex and ribbon fiber fusion splicers from Fujikura via a partnership with the latter’s North American subsidiary, AFL. The fusion splicers will offer OptoTest’s production and R&D lab customers high precision and low splice loss, the company says.

The partnership begins with Fujikura’s 41S Active Cladding Alignment Fusion Splicer, 90R Mass Fusion Splicer, and 90S+ Core Alignment Fusion Splicer. The splicers offer fast splicing times, extremely low loss, and high repeatability, asserts OptoTest. The units also come in rugged, compact, and portable packages with easy-to-use touchscreen controls, OptoTest adds.
