Eoptolink Technology Inc., Ltd. (stock code: 300502.SZ) says it has begun sampling a 200-Gbps CWDM4 QSFP-DD optical transceiver. The optical module will support reaches up to 2 km; a companion module, based on 2x4WDM-10 technology, will address 10-km applications, the company says.

The QSFP-DD 2x100G CWDM4 transceiver uses 8x25G NRZ DML technology and is the first such module on the market, Eoptolink asserts. Through use of the CS fiber-optic connector, the transceiver can support two QSFP28 CWDM4 breakouts or be connected directly to another 200G QSFP-DD.

Eoptolink says its design can be used with other form factors such as the OSFP as well. The design leverages the company's 100G+ production platform, which Eoptolink says ensures high-volume production and low cost for 200G and eventual 400G optical modules.

The company introduced the optical transceiver at CIOE 2017 in China and is displaying the module this week at ECOC 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden, at Stand 157. Eoptolink also has developed QSFP28 CWDM4/CLR4, QSFP28 LR4, and QSFP28 4WDM-10 transceivers.
